Until a Grocery Store Returns to Monroe Street

Here are 5 options Dudgeon-Monroe Neighborhood Association has identified for neighbors who depended on Ken Kopps. If you would like to help neighbors access or find out more about these services, please call 255-2690 to volunteer.

1. Regent Market Co-op, delivery 233-4329

For:	Persons such as seniors or those with disabilities, who need this service.
What:	Volunteers will shop for you and deliver your order to your home.
Store:	Regent Market Co-op, 2136 Regent Street
Fee:	No extra charge.
Days:	Thursday; Monday (limited service); no service on holidays.
Time:	Phone in order before 11 a.m. on Thursday (or Monday) for delivery that afternoon.

2. KEN Z EXPRESS (a neighborhood business), delivery 257-1892

For:	Any customer who lives on the near West side.
What:	Proprietor Boni Kuenzi or one of her staff will shop for you and deliver your order from the store of your choice* to your home.
Stores:	*Choices include Woodman’s, Cub, Regent and Willy Street Co-ops, Magic Mill, Copp’s, Whole Foods
Fee:	Based on the total price of the order. Sample fees as of June 2001 are: $0-$15 order = $9 fee; $16-25 order = $10 fee; $26-$50 order = $12 fee; $51-$75 order = $15 fee.
Days:	All day Saturday, some Tuesday mornings, weekday evenings.
Time:	Usually same-day, or next-day service.

3. GROUP ACCESS, transportation 294-8747

For:	Those age 60 or older (wheelchair accessible vans by request).
What:	A van or bus will pick you up at home, take you to a designated store (see schedule below) and bring you back home. The driver will help you carry a reasonable amount of groceries on and off the vehicle and to the door of your home.
Store:	Woodman’s, Sentry, Copp’s, Kohl’s Junction Road (see below for schedule)
Fee:	$1.00 each way
Days:	Tuesday (Woodman’s), Wednesday (Sentry-Hilldale), Friday (alternate between Copp’s/Kohl’s Junction Road)
Times:	10-11:45 a.m., Tuesday and Wednesday; noon-2 p.m. Friday. Times may vary, confirm times when you make your reservation. Call by noon the day before you wish to shop to reserve a place and confirm times.

4. OLDE TIME GROCERY DELIVERY SERVICE, 663-6363

For:	Any customers
What:	An employee will shop for you and deliver your order from Sentry-Hilldale to your home.
Store:	Sentry Foods-Hilldale Mall
Fee:	Based on the total price of the order. Sample fees as of June 2001 are: 0-$25 order = $6.75 fee; $25.01-$50.00 = $9.25 fee; $50.01-$75.00 = $11.75 fee.
Days:	Orders are delivered Monday-Friday, mornings and afternoons, and on Saturday - mornings only
Time:	Phone in order by 5:00 p.m. the weekday before the day delivery is expected (i.e. call Friday for Monday delivery). Fax and other ways of ordering are also available.

5. CAPITOL CENTRE FOODS, delivery 255-2616

For:	Any customers
What:	Free home delivery of orders over $40 that the customer has shopped for in person. Shopping via Internet for a fee of $9.95 per order with free home delivery of Internet orders over $30.05. A $5.00 delivery charge is added to smaller Internet orders.
Store:	Capitol Centre Foods, 111 N. Broom
Fee:	$9.95 Internet shopping fee
