DMNA News - SW Path lighting - new test and public meeting

Date: June 13th 2012

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The City has installed three new lighting fixtures along the Southwest Path for neighborhood evaluation.  Two of these replace those located near the Council Crest intersection and one between Sheldon and Glenway.  According to the City, the new fixture produces a warmer, less blue light and produces fewer less light than the previous test fixtures.  City staff have outfitted these fixtures with a baffle to reduce light spilling off the path.

To discuss the new fixture, other policy issues, and next steps, a neighborhood meeting is being scheduled for Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 7 to 8:30 pm in the Anderson Auditorium of the Predolin Humanities Building at Edgewood College.

Please review the new lighting fixtures on the path. Comments can be provided at the neighborhood meeting or via the the Citys project website at: http://www.cityofmadison.com/bikeMadison/planning/project.cfm?id=41.

More information is available in the letter sent to residents along the SW Path - http://www.cityofmadison.com/bikemadison/documents/swpathlighting6-11-2012letter.pdf and the city's SW Path lighting project website - http://www.cityofmadison.com/bikeMadison/planning/project.cfm?id=41.
